Each week focuses on a key aspect of drawing or painting, starting with basic drawing exercises to strengthen observation skills and explore mark-making. Transitioning into painting, you will learn about the colour wheel, including primary, secondary, and tertiary colours, and how to mix and use them effectively. The course delves into the subtleties of creating browns, warm and cool colour palettes, complementary colours, and techniques for achieving tints, shades, and tones.
By the end of the course, you will be able to recall, understand, and apply different drawing and painting techniques, critically evaluate their success, and create independently developed pieces of art.
