Course overview

This course is for user of Next Steps Malton only. A relaxed and informal Arts and Crafts class. Come and join this short course where you will have the opportunity to try different techniques to create your own individual craft work. We will try paper crafts, hand-building in clay and develop surface patterns and decoration methods. We will be using a range of craft materials and applying paints to your finished pieces. All materials will be provided and everything you make will be yours to take home. Joining art and craft classes or workshops allows you to connect with other like-minded individuals, share ideas, and learn from each other. Building social connections and a sense of community can contribute to your overall wellbeing.

Course description

This arts and crafts course is designed to introduce you to a range of different activities in a fun and engaging way. This short course will provide you with the opportunity to try some different craft activities, allowing you to explore the basic techniques involved under the guidance of an experienced tutor. Painting and surface decoration techniques will be included giving you the chance to develop your art skills. Through hands-on practice, you will experience the therapeutic benefits of craftwork while exploring your own creativity. This course is perfect for those who are new to crafts or have some experience and want to develop their skills in an informal and social environment.

The crafts we will try may include:

· Paper crafts

· Clay modelling

· Painting

· Surface decoration

You will have the chance to develop and practice new skills which you may wish to continue in your own time. You will be encouraged to develop your own ideas for patterns and decoration. You can take part in tutor guided and group activities as well as developing your own project ideas. Everything you need will be provided to help you create your craft work which will be yours to take home at the end of each session.

No prior experience is required, so come and join us for an enjoyable and relaxing arts and crafts course.

We don't want anything to stand in your way when it comes to bringing Adult learning within reach so if you need anything to support you to achieve your goals then speak to one of our education experts during your enrolment journey. Most of our courses are government funded but if you don't qualify or need alternative financial help to access them then let us know.
