Course overview
Course description
This course will give you a basic understanding of the principles of making a Christmas Wreath. You will source your own products, by gathering the materials you want to use, such as foliage including shrubs, evergreens, ivys and flowers from your garden, or you may wish to buy products from a local florist, you could recycle silk flowers, ribbon, rafia and pine cones.
Our tutor will bring along a limited amount of foliage and ribbons and will demonstrate the process of wreath making to the whole group.
You will begin by preparing the foliage by removing any thorns and unhealthy leaves, cutting it into smaller pieces if needed. You will also prepare the flowers by removing excess foliage.
You will start building up the foliage on the wreath form by attaching it with floral wire or glue, your wreath will become complete by threading in the flowers and other accents, such as yarn balls, ribbons, and secure them with glue or wire.
These will be arranged evenly around the wreath.
Come along & make a seasonal natural wreath using pre-gathered plant materials. Please bring your own secateurs & gloves if you have them. Please note you need a good degree of manual dexterity to access this course. You will need to wear suitable clothing to take part in this craft activity ( You may wish to bring an apron along )
