Course description
In this immersive course focused on acrylic painting, you will delve into the diverse world of artistic expression with practical tasks and peer and tutor feedback. Over five weeks, you will be guided through a creative journey, starting with week 1 and an introduction to drawing and painting. This will focus on continuous line, a technique that will help you develop confidence in your artistic strokes. In week 2 you will explore drawing and painting patternsplooking at how they can be incorporated into your acrylic artworks to add depth and intrigue to your compositions. In week 3 you will discover mark making, where you'll learn how to use various tools and techniques to create unique textures and effects in your acrylic pieces. In week 4 still life painting is introduced, and you will explore the beauty of everyday objects with acrylics. In week 5 you will create your own cut outs and will learn how to layer, combine, and manipulate painted elements to create striking acrylic compositions. Throughout the course, you will not only grasp, comprehend, employ, analyse and assess drawing and painting techniques but you will also have the opportunity to independently craft captivating artistic outcomes using acrylics.
