Course overview

This free 8-week course is designed for those with an interest in making their own jewellery. The course is catered for beginners who have had no experience in making jewellery but are interested in starting a new hobby or if you have tried yourself in the past but would like to join a course with lots of other like-minded people to gain experience and inspiration. If you want to develop skills in designing and crafting unique pieces this course is perfect for you. From understanding the properties of different materials and properties to mastering the basic techniques. Our experienced tutor will you give all the necessary tools and materials to work with in the sessions, but please feel free to bring along anything you wish to make into a beautiful piece.

Course description

This free 8-week course is designed for those with an interest in making their own jewellery. The course is catered for beginners who have had no experience in making jewellery but are interested in starting a new hobby or if you have tried yourself in the past but would like to join a course with lots of other like-minded people to gain experience and inspiration.

During this course you will learn how to create fabulous wire wrapped gemstone rings and pendants, design and create bracelets, make presentation sets and use beads and wires to make ornate bag charms and key rings. Whether you create for yourself or as a gift there will be lots to learn and make during this course. You will also learn how to upcycle old broken jewellery, so if you have any at home you wish to use in your new items, please bring them along to the sessions.

This course is free to everyone due to our partnership with the Coalfields trust and ourselves the WEA. So, make the most of a beautiful free course.

What financial support is available?
