Course overview
Course description
On this eleven week course you will be encouraged to learn the art of upcycling garments or pieces of material that you may have acquired. You
will transform the materials into clothes or articles that are more up to date and you will be taught that there is no need to throw anything away. In todays economic climate, it makes sense to utilise what we have at our disposal and you will be shown the skills required, to transform items as you progress through the course. With the guidance of the tutor you will learn, how to use a sewing machine safely, how to utilise and transform an item of clothing or any material of your choice. At various stages of the course, you will be required to take photographs of your garment to show the various developments you have made.
This evidence will be uploaded into the WEA virtual learning environment to be used as evidence to the progress you are making throughout the course. Your final garments or other creations will be used in a showcase event at the end of the course.
