Course description

Enjoy being creative and playing with materials in a supportive atmosphere. Art Journaling is a visual diary; a cross between a diary and a sketchbook, however you don't need any artistic skill to use one, just a willingness to play with ideas, images, words and materials. Through hands-on practice, you will also experience the therapeutic benefits of craftwork while exploring your own creativity.

In the sessions, the tutor will be leading you through lots of techniques and 'how to's’, discussing ideas and starting points and giving clear instructions and demonstrations. In this course, you will have the opportunity to discuss your progress with the tutor. You will also be able to set your own personal learning goals and get one to one support towards achieving them. The friendly atmosphere will offer the opportunity to learn new skills at your own pace.

The course will support adults on their journey to learn skills which help them progress either in work or life. Alongside the potential economic benefits, the course is intended to reduce loneliness and make people happier, healthier, more confident, capable and more resilient. This taster is free for WHIST members.
