Our creative arts courses will get you working with pastels and pencils, exploring fine art and even get you out and about discovering new galleries in your spare time. In this course develop your own style of portrait drawing and painting in this welcoming safe space. This improvers class will encourage you to challenge your skills and build on your love of portrait art. Bring your favourite materials and express yourself in this friendly and warm setting. This tutor has years of art experience and is past courses has put on art exhibitions for her learners.

Course description

This course is perfect for those wanting to improve their art skills. The WEA pride themselves on providing a safe and fun learning experience for their learners, it is nothing like school! In this course you will develop your hidden artist by using mediums such as pencils, charcoal, watercolour, acrylic and collage. Build your skills and colour mixing techniques in this friendly group. Share your love of the arts with like minded people and be encouraged and motivated to produce work that reflects who you are. You can even share what you produce on our virtual learning environment Canvas, and explore ways to improve and master your skills and techniques. Bring your favourite materials and by the end of the course you will be hooked. Once you have completed this course you can progress onto the next course in the series: Still Life. Ask your tutor for details about future courses, and what ones would be best for you.

We don't want anything to stand in your way when it comes to bringing Adult learning within reach so if you need anything to support you to achieve your goals then speak to one of our education experts during your enrolment journey. Most of our courses are government funded but if you don't qualify or need alternative financial help to access them then let us know.
