Course overview
Course description
During this FREE 7-week Art course you will learn how to understand the importance of still life art, developing observational skills, and mastering the techniques needed to represent objects realistically. By the end of the course, you will gain confidence to create realistic and expressive still life drawings, understanding both the technical and creative aspects of the art form.
You will also learn how to use continuous line and value by focusing on developing the skills needed to create dynamic, expressive drawings using a single, unbroken line and enhancing those drawings with a nuanced understanding of value (light and shadow).
You will then gain the opportunity to draw winter trees allowing you to capture the stark beauty and intricate details of trees in their bare state.
Negative space painting ill be delivered which is an artistic technique that focuses on painting the background or the space around an object rather than the object itself. This method highlights the subject by emphasizing the space that surrounds it, creating a unique visual effect and often leading to more abstract or minimalist compositions.
And finally expressionist art movement will be covered which was a pivotal development in the early 20th century, characterized by its focus on representing raw emotion, personal experience, and subjective interpretation rather than objective reality.
