Course description
Using a wide variety of tools that are readily available you will be able to explore some of the beautiful styles of lettering from the last 2 thousand years. Looking at the scripts historical relevance and development and contemporary use.
No prior knowledge of calligraphy is required but would be helpful for this course, which runs for 12 weeks. Each lessons last 90 minutes, plenty of time to master the techniques, ask questions and receive feedback from your teacher who is a professional calligrapher. There will the opportunity to do homework and group projects to ensure that you continue to progress.
By the end of the course you will be creating lettering that is both useful and elegant. Beautiful writing never goes out of style. Further study options are available through the WEA after this course.
