Course description
This course is designed to introduce stitching with creativity and how to implement shape ideas that are contained in a basic heart outline, using Hand Embroidery. The course is suitable for beginners and improvers. During the course we will look at different ways of using stitches to create a variety of effects.
The sessions will start with a basic stitch and move on to more complex stitches from the same family. You will be able to choose whether you make your embroidered heart a riot of colour or choose just one shade of embroidery thread to work with.
By the end of the course, you will be able to:
-Demonstrate a variety of simple stitches for hand embroidery.
-Demonstrate more complex stitches in your design.
-Expand your skills and gain confidence in creating your own work.
-Identify the best stitches to create different effects.
-Use the skills you have learned to move onto other textile and sewing courses.
