Entry Levels 1,2,3: If you have never studied this subject before and you’re not confident in your skills, Entry levels are a good starting point.
Level 1: Covers basic skills and knowledge needed for this subject
Level 2: Building on basic knowledge or experience. Similar to Grade 4/ C at GCSE or O level in England or Standards in Scotland.
Level 3: Learn about the topic in-depth and have a broad range of skills. Independent working Equivalent to an A level in England or Higher in Scotland.
Beginners: A perfect introduction if you have no experience and skills in this subject.
Improvers: The next step if you have basic skills or knowledge but want to progress them further.
Advanced: Build on the solid experience and skills you have in this subject, applying your skills and knowledge in a more complex way.

Course description
This Digital Skills for Learning course is designed for those who are beginning to use digital tools to support their personal learning and confidence in an educational setting. The course focuses on helping you develop the essential, practical skills needed to access simple online learning materials, follow digital instructions, and participate safely and positively in a digital learning environment. You will use familiar devices to open links, watch short learning videos, and complete simple interactive activities. Through guided practice, you will build an understanding of basic onscreen icons, navigation features and tools such as play/pause, scrolling, and typing short responses.
The course also develops essential learning behaviours, including asking for help appropriately, following step by step instructions and explore safe behaviour online. You will take part in short, structured activities designed to strengthen your independence and confidence, while using digital technology at a pace that supports your needs. By the end of the course, you will feel more confident using digital tools as part of your learning journey and will have developed the foundational skills needed to progress to further digital or study related courses.
