Our guest blog series for the new decade

The WEA’s Adult Education Works report takes as its chapter headings some of the key outcomes of adult learning – the positive life changes which students experience from taking part in WEA courses. These include building confidence for life and work, improving health and wellbeing and increasing participation in community and cultural life.

We are always grateful to everyone who takes part in our annual survey as it helps to inform the WEA’s work and shows the impact of adult learning.

For 2020 we also wanted to hear what people outside the WEA have to say about the same themes. What do influential commentators, practitioners and experts think about how adult learning connects with some of the biggest challenges facing society today?

Throughout this year we will be publishing short blogs commissioned from leading specialists, each reflecting on how lifelong learning can make a difference and what needs to change to bring adult education to the forefront of policy-makers’ thinking.
