Information on our Courses
The types of courses we offer are widely varied. Some are targeted at particular groups such as parents with young children,
whereas others are open to the public at large.
We take education out to the local community where it is most needed rather than expect people to come to us.
A WEA course can be set up almost anywhere - in clubs, community centres, village halls, schools, pubs, or where people work.
We offer:
Courses intended for anyone
A broad range of subjects which include creative writing; calligraphy; using the internet; family history; local history;
dry stone walling; arts and crafts; music and singing.
Courses aimed at particular groups
A wide range of both accredited and non-accredited courses offering qualifications such as literacy and numeracy; training for volunteer classroom
helpers; mental health improvement; community interpreting.
Courses offering people a chance to learn before, at, or through, work
A range of courses, most of which are in partnership with Unions. These include preparing for employement, study skills and business
management courses
