Teaching for the WEA you will need a strong commitment to lifelong learning and educational democracy. We need teachers and tutors who can:

Bring a teaching qualification

We attract over 80,000 learners a year - providing courses in cities, towns, villages, workplaces and through community organisations, building our provision around the needs, interests and experiences of adults.
We're looking for enthusiastic, imaginative and innovative subject specialist, part-time tutors, particularly in:
Visual and Performing Arts (including Digital Imaging)
Literacy, Numeracy and ESOL
Humanities and Literature
Staff and Volunteer Development
Trade Union Studies
Community Capacity Building and Citizenship
ICT
Communication including Lip Reading, Deaf Awareness
Family Learning
Health and Personal Development
We deliver a range of accredited and non-accredited provision and, while we can't give a guarantee of work, we currently have opportunities in every region of England and in Scotland.
The WEA is committed to increasing diversity in our curriculum content and our tutor pool and we would particularly welcome applications from under-represented groups including Black and Minority Ethnic groups or people with disabilities.
The current rate of pay for WEA sessional tutors is £22.46 per hour.
Travel expenses and mileage incurred are reimbursed in accordance with the standard WEA rate. Further information on terms and conditions is available from your local WEA region.
