About Us

Welcome to the webpage of the WEA Basingstoke Branch. The longstanding branch runs cultural studies weekly classes and day schools for adults in topics ranging from Art and Art History, Literature and Astronomy to Egyptology. Our classes are modestly priced and open to all adults aged over 18, we employ only vetted professional tutors who deliver a range of high quality courses.

Calling all Volunteers!

WEA Basingstoke is run by a volunteer committee who undertake the organizing and publicity of the courses in the town. If you are interested in becoming involved please email basingstoke@wea.org.uk

Venues

WEA Basingstoke adult education weekly courses currently take place at the United Reformed Church at 20 London Road, RG21 7NU in the Town Centre, and can easily be accessed by local bus, or by a ten minute walk from the railway station.  The venue is fully accessible by wheelchair users. There are adjacent public bike racks. Paid car parking is available in Central Car Park (max stay 2 hrs) and Feathers Yard Car Park (max stay 3 hours). Day Schools take place in the Willis Museum in the Market Place https://hampshireculturaltrust.org.uk/willis-museum
