Bournemouth WEA are able to provide courses on a wide range of topics. Popular courses include the arts, music and literature. Following on from last year's successful course on Egyptology, John Billman is back by popular demand, as is Polly Warner, who has an established local reputation, looking at some of the lesser known aspects of literary figures, past and present. This year we are offering a new course on France; its culture, food, language, literature and recent politics. Despite its rural setting, Dorset has a fascinating industrial heritage which Peter Stanier will be exploring in a day school in the New Year. Our courses are all held at either Castlepoint Library or Bournemouth Central Library. Both venues are easily accessible by public transport and are close to convenient public car parks.

We were happy to celebrate a century of offering WEA courses in Weymouth. Our new venue at St Pauls Church Hall has proved to be popular giving us more space and facilities to provide refreshments when appropriate. As well as providing longer courses, we have arranged a series of one-off lectures from local experts, which we plan to continue during the next year. We have planned courses on Lawrence of Arabia in the autumn and on Jane Austen in the spring. Following the success of our day schools in 2015/16 by local experts on a variety of subjects, we are offering another selection of exciting and interesting day schools. With your support we can continue for another hundred years to provide these friendly opportunities of "Learning for Pleasure"
