Parent's voices cover

Parent's Voices

This is a research report on interviews with 21 parents who participated in this recent WEA family learning project funded by the Big Lottery Fund. The research found that volunteering enhanced their confidence and self-esteem, and opened up routes for them into training and employment. It also raises implications for the 'big society' agenda, as many of the services and support organisations through which people volunteer are at risk from government spending cuts.
