WEA Policies

Our policies set the standards for the way we operate. They cover everything from how we treat our staff and volunteers to the service we provide for learners.

This page has links to many of the policies that affect the way we treat learners. If the policies here don't cover what you are looking for, you can contact us on national@wea.org.uk to ask for further details.

There are two policies that affect everyone in the WEA. Our Equality and Diversity policy outlines our commitment to being inclusive of everyone, and our Health and Safety policy describes our commitment to ensuring safety and wellbeing for all.

An Equality and Diversity Statement and a Health and Safety Statement explain the key points of these policies.

The full policies are available below with the other main policies and procedures governing our service to learners. In addition to those policies which outline the standards we aim to meet for learners, there are three documents which describe learners' responsibilities to the WEA:

Policy Purpose of policy
Appeals against assessment procedure If you feel your work has been unfairly assessed on an accredited course.
Appeals for LSF applications procedure If your Learner Support Fund application has been refused.
Complaints procedure If you want to make a formal complaint.
