How to become a WEA member

WEA Handbook The WEA currently operates an individual membership scheme, where each member is required to submit an application. Membership in England is free and open to all who support the value of lifelong learning and the Principles of the Association. Full information on joining the WEA is available direct from our Membership Department, or you can apply by downloading the membership application form (below) and posting or faxing this to our Membership Department. We aim to process all applications within 28 days.

All members join the WEA’s National Association. Additionally, you can also choose to be affiliated at Branch or Regional level, if you are a student at, or wish to be actively involved in, the work of your local Branch or Region. New members who wish to support the WEA but do not wish to be active at Branch or Regional level are recommended to select ‘National’ as the level of membership. Full details of how to select your level of membership are given on all membership application forms.

We are currently unable to offer an online membership application service, but we hope to have this available in the near future.
