Moving to live in a new country can be a bewildering experience and people will often seek out those who speak the same language and share a common background. These organisations support people who have often had traumatic experiences and moved away from their family and communities. With WEA we provide ESOL courses that can lead to qualifications and a wide range of other courses that develop people’s confidence and understanding of society.
Some of these provide qualifications that enable people to use their language skills to gain employment or support others in their community. We run a suite of Community Interpreting courses from L1 through to L3 that will equip people to be out in the community as volunteers or in paid employment as interpreters in the public sector.
