Description

These posts are jointly funded by The Big Lottery Fund and European Social Fund.

This is a Building Better Opportunities funded project.

Background Information

Building Better Opportunities (BBO)

Big Lottery Fund is matching funds from the European Social Fund (ESF) 2014-2020 to invest in local projects tackling the root causes of poverty, promoting social inclusion and driving local jobs and growth.

The Workers’ Educational Association [WEA] is an educational charity delivering responsive, relevant and accessible programmes of learning across England and Scotland. Through our vision of employability, health and wellbeing, community engagement and cultural studies, we raise the educational aspirations of local communities.

We are seeking to recruit a project coordinator who, reporting to a project lead, will be responsible for all aspects of WEA delivery within the Building Better Opportunities (BBO) project – Community Connections.   WEA delivery is planned for various locations across Essex.  The key worker will be home based, but expected to travel across the county.

The post holder will be responsible for implementing the BBO project plan including recruiting and supporting unwaged or unemployed participants, who have a disability or long term health issue, through mentoring, IAG and coordinating specialist tutors to ensure that each participant receives appropriate support in order for them to progress into work or closer to the labour market.  The post holder will also be required to manage day to day project management and reconciliation functions.

The successful candidate is likely to have experience delivering one-to-one support and IAG and project management experience with excellent administrative skills.
