WEA Eastern secures New Anglia LEP funding for innovative employability project

The eastern region of the educational charity Workers’ Educational Association (WEA) has been awarded £20,000 by New Anglia LEP through their Community Challenge fund to help the most disadvantaged people in Norfolk and Suffolk become job ready or find work.

Fenland Innovations and Disasters Day School - Thursday 11th May

On Thursday 11th May, the WEA Cambridgeshire Federation will present a day school at Welney Wetland Centre near Wisbech.

Four talks will take place from 09:30 - 16:30, with a break for lunch, during which you will be free to explore the Welney Wetlands and visitor centre.

Basildon class Macmillan Coffee Morning

On March 17th 2017 WEA English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) class organised a Macmillan Coffee Morning at a local primary school in Basildon, where this group of students meet up every Friday morning to have their ESOL class. The school staff were very supportive of this event and agreed to let ESOL class use their hall for the day. Furthermore, many of the school staff attended the event and donated money to Macmillan Cancer Support.
