Peter Threadkell
WEA English Regional Representative
Peter left school at 16 to join an insurance company. At the age of 30, thanks to a marvellous and inspiring WEA tutor, he decided to become a teacher. He attended the local College of Education as a mature student, subsequently spending over thirty happy years teaching in various Norfolk primary schools, finding time on the way to get an Open University degree in History and Education.
As a long-term WEA volunteer he first became a Class Secretary and then Branch Secretary. He then joined the Eastern Region Committee and before becoming a Trustee served as Regional Chair for several years.
His other volunteer roles outside of family life include being a Churchwarden of a large city centre Anglican Church which is very much involved in the civic and cultural life of Norwich and being a volunteer for SSAFA.
Peter is Chair of the People Committee.
